All of our patients are faced with so many challenges to get the surgical care they need.  This patient's daughter sent us a letter of request to care for her mother because of lack of means.  Traveling by motorcycle for a 2 hour ride, this family were forced to sell their Carabao to pay for the transport.  The Carabao is a water buffalo native to the Philippines.  They are used to manage the rice fields by local farmers.  We were honored to be able to provide her with life saving surgery, and on Valentine's Day!!
